Polytunnels Scotland™ supply Visqueen™ replacement covers, the industry standard polythene tunnel cladding from BPI Agri. Although there are many makes of polythene on the market, we only use BPI Agri Visqueen™ films as they have been developed and tested for years before being released on to the market. All the Visqueen™ range is manufactured using co-extrusion technology to bond together separate layers of polyethylene to produce a much tougher film and to control surface properties and radiation transmission. Lumitherm Previously known as 5-season clear UVI, this film has high light transmission with good mechanical properties and excelent durability making this the ideal film for most applications where there is little to be saved on heat input and where condensation is not a problem to plant growth.

Luminal Previously known as 5-season Politherm +, this film is a long lasting, anti-condensate film with good thermic properties with additives that help to control the condensation of water on the film. It also incorporates an UV blocker which helps to reduce the risk of disease by insects. Luminance AF Previously known as 5-season Luminance THB AF, this film combines great thermic and light  transmission properties. The high diffusion characteristics makes more light available for plant growth. It can also control peak temperatures and reduce plant scorching by filtering out some of the infra-red. This film also  contains additives which help to control the condensation of water on the film. 5-season white This is a translucent cover with shade producing properties usefull for growing nursery stock. It is also used for housing livestock, usually sheep, where it will diffuse direct sunlight coming in and so keep the environment cool. 5-season green / white. This is an opaque cover and so the inside of the polytunnel is pitch dark. It is used mainly for growing mushrooms but it is sometimes used for housing livestock where there are environmental requirements to be considered.
